The De La Salle John Bosco College (DLSJBC) is a Lasallian district school located in Mangagoy, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur in the Philippines. It was established in 1963 by the Don Bosco Fathers, the administration and supervision of which was formally turned over to the De La Salle Brothers in 1977.

Guess what pips, another alumnus has brought laurels to our alma mater.  It's NORMAN WILWAYCO...an alumni of batch...ahem...i miss out on this one (I'm currently gathering facts about him -- currently emailing him).

Norman has been collecting Palanca awards for his novels; the latest of which is GERILYA.  I haven't read the book but I have a feeling his experiences in in living in Mangagoy is going to be a centerpiece here. hehehe.

By the way, you might want to check his BLOG. You may also download his latest award-winning book GERILYA.  But better yet, buy his book and encourage Norman to make another award-winning book...ung kasama school natin. P185 lang!

 
Norman Wilwayco, aside from being a multiple Palanca award winner (one being the prestigious Grand Prize for the novel in 2002), plays bass for a rock and roll band and designs multimedia web sites. He also writes for Filmless Films. He previously wrote for the popular television show Batibot and has contributed articles to Liwayway, Manila Times and Inquirer. He was a fellow of the UP Writers Workshop and won the first prize in the Amado Hernandez Award for Literature in 1999.
